PUMA’s VP of global sports marketing Johan Adamsson to depart after 25 years
PUMA has announced that Johan Adamsson, VP global sports marketing & sports licensing, is to leave the company after more than 25 years for personal reasons.
The brand’s chief executive Arthur Hoeld said Adamsson had played an important role in the development of its sports marketing organisation, and had contributed to many of the athlete, team and federation partnerships that have helped strengthen PUMA’s position as a global sports brand.

With Adamsson due to step down on 31 August, Hoeld will lead sports marketing on an interim basis until a successor is appointed.
Prior to PUMA, Adamsson worked with the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry for ten years.
Adamsson said: “I look back with immense gratitude and pride on an extraordinary journey. It has been a true privilege to be part of such an iconic brand, to experience some of the world’s greatest sporting events and, most importantly, to work alongside so many exceptional and inspiring people.
“PUMA has an incredible heritage, and I have every confidence that the brand will continue to lead, inspire and set the standard for many years to come.”
Last month, PUMA announced that it had appointed Dusan Hamlin as vice president of ecommerce and ex-Nike exec Marcia Dos Santos to head up core division.
