Marks & Spencer to launch new St Helens store

Marks & Spencer is to open a new 40,000 square foot store at Ravenhead Retail Park in St Helens.

The full-line store will stock the retailer’s clothing and home ranges and will also feature a food hall and M&S café. In addition, customers will be able to take advantage of a click and collect service and free parking.

The new opening means that M&S will retain a presence in St Helens following the closure of its branch in the Hardshaw Centre which was announced last year.

Andrew Berger-North, director of UK retail at Hammerson, said: “We are delighted that Marks & Spencer has chosen Ravenhead to increase their presence in the town and look forward to the brand joining our varied retail line-up, including Next, Argos, Boots and Costa.”

With the store due to open on 14 March, staff from the old store are all transferring to the new shop where a number of new positions will also be created.

Lucy Grimes, M&S store manager at St Helens said, “My team and I are really excited about relocating to our new store at Ravenhead Retail Park, where we’ll continue to offer outstanding service for customers. As well as larger food, clothing and home departments, we’re really looking forward to offering new services which we didn’t have previously, such as St Helens first M&S Café.”
