Kingfisher to launch agentic AI-powered shopping in UK and Europe

Kingfisher is to launch agentic AI shopping on its B&Q, Castorama France and Poland, and Brico Dépôt France websites.

In a partnership with Google Cloud, the group is upgrading to Vertex AI, moving away from traditional keyword search to give customers a more intuitive, conversational way to discover products. With early trials showing meaningful results, Kingfisher said the move aligns with modern shopping behaviour, delivering faster and more precise results.

The partnership will also help Kingfisher unlock its extensive product and data catalogues to build proactive AI shopping agents. These agents will give customers the ability to plan complex home improvement projects, create smart shopping lists, and make purchases seamlessly.
