DFS launches 100% vegan range approved by PETA

DFS has launched DFS Vegan, a new range of upholstery that is both 100% animal free and approved by PETA, the charity dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.

The exclusive new VEGAN collection offers customers five new PETA approved sofas, two accent chairs and a footstool, in a range of stylish colours and fabrics.

On the retailer’s website DFS said “Every element designed to ensure no creature is ever harmed in their making. But don’t just take our word for it. These sofas also get the approval of PETA.”

The DFS VEGAN range was manufactured and sourced according to PETA’s exacting standards of vegan principles, with the range containing no animal fibres, colouring dyes and components, glues, waxes, fats and oils or other animal-derived component parts.

Each supplier has been required to provide signed declarations confirming that they meet PETA’s criteria.

On its site, the retailer said: “as with all our products, the new DFS vegan range is designed to offer consumers greater choice and has been created to meet a growing consumer desire for vegan products,”

“It supports a growing lifestyle choice for consumers, whether that is fuelled by a desire for healthier living or interests in animal welfare and protection.”

PETA Director of Corporate Projects Yvonne Taylor said: “The new DFS ‘PETA-Approved Vegan’ sofa collection is a testament to how easy it is to furnish your abode without harming animals,”

“With rising demand for décor without leather, wool, and feathers, DFS’ on-trend faux leather and animal-print designs are sure to be a hit with all compassionate consumers.”

DFS has more than 120 stores across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain and employs over 4,000 people.
