Superdrug strengthens presence in Oxford

Superdrug is strengthening its presence in Oxford through the expansion of its city centre store and the opening of a new site in Cowley.

The move forms part of the health and beauty retailer’s strategic growth plans which focus on upsizing in key shopping centres and expanding its retail park portfolio.

The Superdrug store at Westgate Centre has been extended sideways into adjacent space at units 21–22 to create a  significantly enlarged store spanning 6,792 square feet.

Meanwhile, the retailer has recently exchanged contracts on a unit at Templar Shopping Park which will be its second site in the city. Superdrug is taking possession this month as it starts fit-out works.

Simon Horner of GCW, Superdrug’s retained property agent, said that the news highlights the retailer’s continued strategy to grow and modernise its portfolio.

Superdrug is currently exceeding its annual target of 25 new store openings for the year.
