All remaining Bodycare stores set to close this week
All remaining Bodycare stores are set to close this week after administrators were unable to find a buyer for the failed health and beauty retailer.
In a statement, administrators from Interpath confirmed that it was no longer viable to continue trading the stores, citing a shortage of stock and the high costs associated with operating them.
While stating that discussions have continued with several parties who have expressed interest in the business, including the Bodycare brand, the administrators added: “While these discussions remain ongoing, it is with regret that we must confirm that a sale of the stores is now unlikely.”
The stores are expected to close by Saturday 27 September with 444 members of staff being made redundant.
Nick Holloway, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, said: “We understand this has been a difficult period and so we want to further express our sincere thanks to Bodycare’s staff who, since day one of the administration, have maintained the strong standards of presentation and customer service that Bodycare was renowned for.”
He added: “We will continue to explore options for the company’s assets, including the Bodycare brand, and will provide further updates in due course.”
