Sainsbury’s launches greeting card range to celebrate Pride
Sainsbury’s has announced that it has become the first supermarket to launch an exclusive range of greetings cards to celebrate Pride 2019.
With Pride celebrations commencing this month and ending in September, the first Sainsbury’s store to stock the range of cards was in Swansea where there was a parade through the city centre on 4 May.
The range will also be available in 207 Sainsbury’s stores in places such as Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow Leeds and London when the cities hold their own Pride celebrations.
A spokesperson at Sainsbury’s said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating the diversity of both our colleagues and customers during this year’s Pride festivals. As part of our vision to be the UK’s most inclusive retailer, it’s fitting that we’re the first UK supermarket to offer greetings cards for Pride.”
Sainsbury’s has a long-running partnership with Pride including sponsoring several Pride events across the country.
