Music Magpie expands kiosk locations

Music Magpie is expanding its SMARTDrop Kiosk network with three new sites at the Manchester Arndale, Cribbs Causeway and Willow Brook shopping centres.

The company said each of the sites will benefit from the centres’ high footfall which together attract over 50 million visitors per year.

Music Magpie began rolling out the kiosks in an initial 290 Asda stores in October 2022 and installed a kiosk at Manchester’s The Trafford Centre earlier this year.

The kiosks give customers a place to take their mobile phone, receive a valuation, deposit it and then have the money paid to their bank or PayPal account within minutes.

SMARTDrop Kiosks now account for 45% of Music Magpie’s consumer technology sourcing in the UK.

Steve Oliver, chief executive and co-founder of Music Magpie, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that our SMARTDrop Kiosks will be arriving at three new major locations this week, following the successful rollout in Asda stores across the country.

“Our SMARTDrop Kiosk in The Trafford Centre has been one of our most successful installations to-date, and with millions of people visiting each of these new sites every year these will serve to increase brand awareness and promote the service making it easier than ever for customers to trade in their phone for cash, while doing something positive for the environment.”
