Miniso reports strong sales growth

Miniso has announced that it is on track to reach £42 million in turnover by the end of 2025, up from £26.1 million a year earlier.

After launching its first store in the UK in 2019, the collectibles and pop culture brand now has 50 shops across the country from where it also sells its popular ‘blind boxes’.

The expansion has seen high street sales jump by 63% in the last year, with ecommerce sales delivering year-on-year growth of 500%.

Miniso attributed the online success to the launch of a  new version of minisoshop.co.uk with improved navigation, more products and ranges. The brand is also benefiting from demand for collectibles, plushies and fragrance from Gen Z and their families.

Miniso chief operating officer Saad Usman (pictured) said: “Miniso isn’t just a retailer, we started as a lifestyle movement and have shifted to being a pop culture and collectibles destination.

“With our average sale between £16 to £20, we provide affordable but aspirational items and accessories with customers being more of a community and visiting stores time and time again.

“Our high street success has established us as an anchor store. When a Miniso opens in an area, we improve footfall and sales for the whole nearby retail estate and lift everyone in the process.”

Miniso launched 15 new stores last year and expects to have opened more than 20 in 2025. These have included new flagship sites in Edinburgh, Liverpool ONE, Birmingham Bullring and Glasgow Braehead, as well as the opening of a 50th UK store in Milton Keynes last week

Founded by Jack Ye in China in 2013, the company now has 8,000 stores in 112 countries.
