FirstVet expands UK offering with ecommerce launch

Digital vet service FirstVet is expanding its UK offering by launching an ecommerce site as it looks to offer pet owners an end-to-end “trusted journey”.

The site will offer thousands of products ranging from premium pet foods to accessories, care products and supplements.

FirstVet already operates an ecommerce business in its native Sweden and is hoping to emulate the site’s success in the UK.

David Prien, chief executive and co-founder of FirstVet, said: “The pet boom that we’ve seen over the past two years has changed the way we view and need pet care forever. I spend more time thinking about how to best take care of my dogs than myself and I’m not alone in this, with FirstVet seeing a rise in demand for a holistic, trusted approach to pet care. Pet owners are increasingly looking for ease when it comes to pet care, without compromising on quality service and products, and our new 360 platform will offer exactly that.”

FirstVet launched in the UK in 2019 and offers on-demand, round-the-clock access to UK-registered vets through an app. With the launch pf the ecommerce site, the vets will be able to recommend products to be sent straight to pet owners’ homes,  even if they are over the counter items.

Prien added: “We’re proud to offer a first-of-its-kind digital vet service, where product recommendations from our vets – including over the counter items – can then be ordered straight from the site after an appointment and sent directly to your house. With a range of vet-approved products supplied by a variety of established brands, alongside our unique and on-demand digital vet service, we offer reliability that you and your furry friends can count on.”

The site offers free delivery for all orders over £39 or provides all other deliveries at £2.99 Customers can return their purchases within 30 days.

FirstVet is active in Scandinavia, the UK, US and Germany.
