Dobbies appoints Rajesh Gupta as strategy and business development director
Garden centre retailer Dobbies has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Rajesh Gupta as strategy and business development director.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Gupta has worked for 20 years in the retail sector, most recently as chief customer officer at Central Co-op. Prior to that, he held strategy, business development and customer roles at Argos, Sainsbury’s and Pets at Home.
Dobbies said Gupta is already familiar with the business as he has been providing strategic consultancy support to its leadership team for the past eight months.
David Robinson, chief executive of Dobbies, said: “Rajesh has an extensive and diverse background in senior leadership roles and is passionate about innovation.
“Rajesh has made a positive contribution to the future direction of the business, and it is a pleasure to welcome him to our senior leadership team on a permanent basis. This is another excellent step in further strengthening our team.”
Dobbies operates 77 stores across the UK and employs 3,800 people.
