Birmingham welcomes Europe’s first DJI | Hasselblad experience store

DJI | Hasselblad is to open its first experience store in Europe in Birmingham’s city centre.

The world’s largest drone maker, DJI has signed a five-year lease on 2,800 square feet of retail space on Corporation Street.

Situated in a prominent trading position on the junction with New Street and opposite Apple, the shop was previously occupied by Vodafone and had been vacant for more than three years.

DJI | Hasselblad will occupy the ground and basement floors of the six-storey building,

Due to open on 5 August, the shop will be DJI’s first UK outlet and the only combined DJI | Hasselblad experience store outside of the Far East. It will showcase the brand’s latest products, including DJI drones, gimbals and accessories, and Hasselblad’s digital medium format cameras and lenses.

Speaking on behalf of DJI | Hasselblad, Majid Shah said: “We are very pleased to have worked with FHP to secure this excellent location for our first DJI | Hasselblad experience store in Europe. Birmingham is a young and vibrant city with major brands that attract a high footfall but it also offers more cost effective rent than comparable units in London.

“We are hopeful that the new store will perform well and have plans to explore other openings in the UK in the near future.”

The property was acquired by property consultancy FHP.

Oliver Marshall, FHP director, said: “We’re thrilled to bring two huge global brands to Birmingham city centre. DJI and Hasselblad are iconic names in visual technology and it’s exciting that they have chosen the city to launch their first experience concept in Europe.”
