Art House Gallery opens at Westfield London

1of1design has opened a temporary exhibition of eight London artists at the Westfield London shopping centre.

Called Art House, the gallery will remain open for six weeks with the aim of raising awareness of established and emerging artists with  members of the public who may never have thought of visiting a gallery before.

Artists include Raph Thomas and Kate Winskill who have both shown at Westfield in previous years. Joining  them are collage and abstract artist Stephen Doak and expressionist landscape painter Dilys Foster. In addition, emerging urban artists Rory Thomas, Luis Alvarez and Lauren Mavromatis will be showing their work together for the first time.

All the artists will be manning the gallery at different times throughout the residency to enable customers to find out more about them and their work. Prices range from £50 to £2,500.

Jacinta Rowsell, general manager for Westfield London, said: “Here at Westfield London we are thrilled to be able to offer a physical space that gives emerging artists a platform to showcase their work. As part of Westfield’s CSR and Better Places 2030 Strategy, Westfield is committed to supporting local and upcoming talent, giving them the opportunity to reach a large audience in our centre. With our research showing 55% of Londoners want to be more involved in their local in general, The Art House is a beautiful space that will help to bring colour to customers lives and homes.
