Waitrose brings back Wine Tasting at Home ‘in-person’ experience

Waitrose has relaunched its popular Wine Tasting at Home ‘in-person’ experience after the service was taken virtual during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Costing from £35 per person, the experience enables customers and their guests to discover the fundamentals of wine tasting from the comfort of the customer’s home. Six bottles are delivered prior to the tasting for sampling during the session and the service also includes an expert Waitrose partner being on hand to guide guests through each wine and the relevant food pairings. They will also host a  a full Q&A session at the end of the experience.

To support demand, Waitrose has trained up nearly 50 Waitrose partners by supporting them through their Level 2 Wine Spirit Education Trust qualifications.

Andrew Riding, drinks experiences manager at Waitrose, said: “We know how much our customers enjoyed our drinks experiences, from gin and cocktails to wine tasting, which is why it was important to us to be able to continue these virtually over the past two years. But now in-person tastings are back and we are delighted to bring these experiences to people in their own homes. It’s also a great way to reconnect teams at work as we return to the office once again.”
