Uber Eats and Jollibee collaborate on limited edition wedding cakes

Uber Eats has collaborated with Philippines-based restaurant chain Jollibee to create a limited edition run of wedding cakes.

The two companies have given the classic wedding cake a quirky makeover using Jollibee’s menu items and ingredients. This has included creating fried chicken inspired decorations and pineapple and mango infused ganache, as well as fondant French fries.

The move comes after research cited by the companies reveals that engaged Brits are bored of traditional wedding food, with a third deciding against serving a traditional wedding cake at their upcoming nuptials.

Matthew Price, general manager at Uber Eats UK, said:  “As wedding season approaches, we know there are many couples wanting to serve up something different to a traditional fruit-based wedding cake. It’s also a great opportunity to show off your culinary tastes to your guests; that’s why we’ve teamed up with the much-loved chain Jollibee to create a limited edition run of alternative wedding cakes.”

Cake flavours include sweet and spicy pineapple, vanilla and ginger, and chocolate.

Ashlee Campbell, head of marketing Jollibee Europe, said: “At Jollibee, we love getting creative with delicious flavour combinations so we were delighted when Uber Eats approached us with the challenge of creating a unique wedding cake. Our three-tiered non-traditional wedding cake is perfect for anyone looking for something different to serve their guests on their special day.”
