Sainsbury’s pulls into York railway station

Sainsbury’s has launched a new convenience shop at York railway station as part of expansion plans for its Local stores.

Opening from 6am to 11pm Monday through to Sunday, the shop will offer customers a range of grocery and household products as well the opportunity to pick up a fresh coffee from a self-service Costa coffee machine.

The store is the second Sainsbury’s Local to open in York this year, following the launch of its York Davygate Local in March.

Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne said: “I’m really delighted that we are opening our second new store in York this year in this long sought-after location for Sainsbury’s. It means that not only local residents, but those travelling to and from the city by rail, will be able to enjoy the convenience, quality and value that Sainsbury’s has to offer.”
