Veja appoints chief executive
Sustainable sneaker brand Veja has appointed Laure Browne as its chief executive.
Browne previously worked at Auchan Retail where she was international brand director. Her prior experience also includes roles at Fnac Darty, SFR, NOCIBE and Marionnaud.
Veja was founded in 2004 by Sebastien Kopp and Ghislain Morillion. The appointment marks the first time they have hired an outsider to run the business. However, they will continue to work on growing the company and will deal with day-to-day operations.
Browne will be responsible for a 120 strong team. On her LinkedIn profile she said: “With 120 persons in France and Brazil, Veja, the ecological sneaker brand is growing globally. Today, the United Kingdom and United States are its first markets before France. Veja is growing independently with no investors and will remain on the same path.”
