The White Company chief executive to step down
The White Company chief executive Paula Nickolds has decided to leave the company at the end of May.
It is understood that she is planning to spend more time with her husband who has a serious illness.
Subscribe to TRBNickolds joined business in 2024 and previously worked in senior positions at Sainsbury’s and John Lewis. A search is now underway for an interim and permanent replacement.
The White Company said Nickolds has navigated the business through a demanding period and tough environment for the retail sector, but was leaving the company with “real momentum” building.
Nickolds said: “I am proud of what the team has achieved over the past two years in genuinely difficult circumstances. There is much still to do, but the foundations are in place for a confident future.
“Stepping back now was not an easy decision, but the right one for my family at the time. The White Company will always have a special place in my heart, and I wish it, and everyone in it, every success.”
Chrissie Rucker, founder of The White Company, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Paula enormously for her commitment and leadership during an exceptionally demanding time.
“She has guided the business with resilience and dedication, and we are grateful for the important contribution she has made in positioning The White Company for the future.”
