Monsoon launch ‘Creative. Curious. Designed by Kids’
Monsoon Children has unveiled its AW23 collections, showcasing a bold new direction for the British brand’s casualwear.
‘Creative. Curious. Designed by Kids’ is the mission statement for these new pieces, which introduce young fans of the brand to a host of characters and motifs inspired by children’s drawings.
Among them, there’s an alien on a skateboard, a happy face and a cheeky apple; which were developed by Monsoon Children’s design team after hosting a creative workshop with children and young people in the target age group; 3-13. The collection aims to capture the imagination of curious, creative children who value comfort as well as playful design. The range includes jumpsuits, co-ords, beanie hats, sweaters, skirts and dresses in a palette of bold colours, with pieces for both boys and girls.
The range will appear in selected stores (Stratford, Dundrum, White City, Bluewater, Birmingham, Edinburgh and 21 international stores) from August 21. To complement the launch, staff will be holding small in-store giveaways with goody bags, stickers and keyrings; and in-store entertainment at their flagship Children’s boutique in Westfield Stratford over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The launch comes six months after the opening of the Monsoon Children flagship boutique in Westfield Stratford, a modern and appealing retail environment, imagined through a child’s eyes. Its playful yet practical features include eye-catching arched doorways (the large one is for the adult and the smaller one is just for children) and bright wall-hangings.
The new design direction for Monsoon Children will sit alongside their other lines, including Land of Wonder – a fairytale inspired collection of dresses, wings and jackets – flower girl and page boy, as well as back to school, partywear and the holiday shop.
