John Lewis appoints new fashion creative director to lead next phase of own-brand strategy
John Lewis has appointed Jacqui Markham as fashion creative director to lead the next phase of its own-brand fashion strategy.
She will succeed Queralt Ferrer who has held the position for the last four years.
Subscribe to TRBMarkham previously served as creative director at the Whistles fashion brand. Earlier in her career, she was global design director at Urban Outfitters Europe, Topshop and design director at ASOS.
In her new role, she will lead the creative direction of John Lewis own-brand fashion across womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear.
Markham said: “I am very excited to join the partnership and to work together with all the teams toward a shared vision for the future of John Lewis.
“It feels like a seminal moment in the long history of the partnership, and I cannot wait to get started to help shape that vision and bring our collective ideas to light.”
John Lewis is currently investing in its fashion offer, including upgrades to shops and digital, and the recent refurbishment of the womenswear and menswear departments at its flagship store in London’s Oxford Street.
This month, the retailer has launched its second John Lewis x Rejina Pyo collaboration, and a new 15-piece exclusive capsule collection from Amanda Wakeley. These will sit alongside an expanded line-up of new brands including Samsoe Samsoe, Mother, St Agni, Patagonia, Belstaff, Missoma and Completedworks.
