Hermès pays £3,500 bonus to all 19,700 employees

Luxury label Hermès is granting all staff a £3,500 bonus at the end of this month following a highly successful year.

The bonus follows the news of the company’s 29% increase in revenue to £10.3 billion for 2022, revealing “remarkable” sales growth in all geographical regions.

Net profit reached £2.9 billion representing profitability of 29%. Annual recurring operating income increased 40.5% to £4 billion.

In a statement, CEO Axel Dumas said that the 12,400 employees in France will receive the equivalent of 17 months’ salary per year as part of its “value sharing” policy.

Dumas said: “In 2022, Hermès had an exceptional year thanks notably to the good performance of its international markets. This success reinforces our approach as an artisanal and highly integrated company: a design house that offers objects conceived to be functional, with an assertive style and uncompromising quality.”
