In his new position, Goudard will report to Mike Stopforth, the company’s chief commercial officer. He will also join the Dr. Martens’ leadership team.
Stopforth said: “Seeing Stéphane take on the role of general manager in France underlines what a deep pool of internal talent there is at Dr. Martens, and his appointment reflects our commitment to developing our leaders from within.
“Having worked closely with Stéphane during his time in the interim role, what has been clear is his market expertise combined with his passion and ambition for the business.
“It is this, combined with the strength of the in-market team, which gives me real confidence in our ability to further unlock the long-term potential of the Dr. Martens brand in France.”
Dr. Martens has recently made two other senior hires with the appointment of Kate Vacovec as global commercial finance director and Justin Lee Seungoh as general manager for South Korea.
In September, the brand also announced that it had hired former Burberry executive Katie Morton as global customer director as part of its growth strategy.
