Charles Clinkard opens in Wilmslow as it expands presence to north west
Footwear retailer The Clinkard Group has opened a new store in Wilmslow as it looks to have a presence in the north west.
The 1,300 square foot space is situated in the town’s former Haslams of Wilmslow footwear store on Grove Street.
Creating up to 12 full and part-time retail jobs, the shop will offer customers the chance to shop a selection of footwear for men, women and kids, including brands such as Gabor, FitFlop, Rieker and Skechers.
Speaking on behalf of The Clinkard Group, Tim Payne said: “Opening a store in Wilmslow is an important step for us as it gives presence for the brand in the north-west, an area where we haven’t been represented for several years.
“In modern retailing it’s vital that we can offer services such as click and collect for our local online customers, and also provide an opportunity for them to see our ranges and talk to our teams face to face; this personal service is becoming even more of a unique proposition on the high street and is an area we feel we continue to excel in.”
Established in 1924 with the opening of its first Charles Clinkard shoe shop in Middlesbrough, The Clinkard Group is a leading independent footwear retailer in the north east and one of the largest independents in the UK.
