AO invests in South Lanarkshire with new Larkhall depot

Online electricals retailer AO has invested in logistics warehousing and job creation in the South Lanarkshire area with the move to a new 20,000 square foot depot on Strutherhill Industrial Estate.

The facility is much larger than its previous depot at Canderside Toll Distribution Centre and means that AO has increased its warehousing capacity by over 80% across the business over the last two years and created over 1,000 logistics jobs.

The new site has resulted in eight new job opportunities for people across South Lanarkshire, and there will be several positions available in the delivery driver crews. The network of depots is supplied by AO’s main distribution centres in Crewe, Stafford and Stoke.

David Ashwell, managing director of AO Logistics, said: “I’m so pleased that we’re able to invest in Larkhall and move to a bigger site in the area – the rapid expansion of AO Logistics is really a testament to the hard work of our people. The new depot is in an ideal location to support our future growth as a business – we’ll be able to serve our customers in South Lanarkshire even better than before and it means we’re securing the best infrastructure for the future.”
