Liberty promotes Laura Simpson to chief marketing officer
Liberty has promoted Laura Simpson to the position of chief marketing officer in a move that will see her continue in her role of managing director of LBTY, the retailer’s beauty offering.
Her new remit will include overseeing the Liberty brand, marketing and customer strategy across the group while driving growth of LBTY.
Subscribe to TRBSimpson joined Liberty in 2022 after a career that included chief marketing officer for Coty Professional Beauty and various marketing director roles at Procter & Gamble. Since establishing the the beauty platform at Liberty, she has she has expanded its brand portfolio and worked to strengthen its position in the premium beauty market.
Adil Mehboob-Khan, chief executive of Liberty, said: “Laura has instrumental in the successful launch and growth of LBTY, demonstrating an exceptional ability to combine commercial performance with brand building and customer engagement.
“As we look to the future, her expanded role will be critical in ensuring that we continue to strengthen Liberty’s position as one of the world’s most distinctive retail destinations.”
Simpson said: “Having launched LBTY and seen the strong response form customers, I am excited to help shape the next chapter of growth for both the beauty business and the wider Liberty brand.”
The news follows two senior appointments announced in January by Liberty including Lydia King as managing director of retail and Alex Pregnolato as chief financial officer.
