Raft of brands open at Portman Marylebone

The Portman Estate has welcomed a raft of new independent brands to its retail line-up in London’s Marylebone.

MONC Eyewear, Niwaki, Perfumer H and New & Lingwood have all taken space at the ‘village-like oasis’ in the heart of the West End where Portman Marylebone includes shopping and dining streets such as Seymour Place, New Quebec Street, Old Quebec Street, Portman Square and Chiltern Street.

Early December saw the opening of a new menswear store for New & Lingwood and a shop for Perfumer H, both of which are on Chiltern Street.

Lyn Harris, Perfumer H owner, said: “In terms of location, you can’t beat Portman Marylebone. I love it all, from the surrounding beautiful red brick buildings to the village atmosphere, created by the hustle and bustle of residents and visitors enjoying the great mix of independent shops and restaurants. It’s also a bonus that our new store on Chiltern Street is just around the corner from our Crawford Street shop and laboratory.”

Meanwhile, MONC Eyewear joined the mix of stores on the estate in late November while another recent addition is Niwaki, which offers a range of fine garden and woodworking tools, kitchen knives and outdoor gear.

Philip Norris, director – commercial asset management at The Portman Estate, added: “We continue to encourage growth across our streets to further enhance our village-like oasis in the heart of the West End, providing an exciting offering for visitors, workers and residents alike.”
