RETAIL SOLUTIONS UK NEWS

Q&A: Farid Mohsen, VP of UK Strategic Accounts at invent.ai

Invent.ai is a global leader in AI-driven retail solutions and our focus is helping retailers operate more effectively, efficiently and profitably through our multi-agentic AI platform.  We help retailers optimise inventory and automate replenishment decisions to improve efficiency and profitability, all while enhancing customer experience.

Can you tell us a bit about your background?

As UK VP of Strategic Accounts at invent.ai, I help leading retailers, including Boots, B&M Retail, Iceland and Footasylum, translate complex data into tangible business outcomes, leveraging AI to optimise inventory, demand planning and forecasting to boost revenues and margins.

With a wealth of experience across retail tech, including previous roles at retail market analytics and technology businesses, I help brands unlock business growth through innovation.

What does your company do? / What is your USP?

Invent.ai is a global leader in AI-driven retail solutions and our focus is helping retailers operate more effectively, efficiently and profitably through our multi-agentic AI platform.  We help retailers optimise inventory and automate replenishment decisions to improve efficiency and profitability, all while enhancing customer experience.

As retailers face a growing number of complex decisions that traditional tools and static forecasts cannot manage, our platform transforms granular retail data into intelligent, coordinated actions, delivering true autonomous AI-decisioning.  This improves product availability, reduces overstocks, optimises pricing and responds dynamically to market shifts.

What’s special about the platform and your approach?

Under the hood of the invent.ai platform is our master agent, Remi, which connects an ecosphere of other specialist AI agents – from social tracking to weather, sales and channel performance.  Remi connects planning, inventory, allocation and pricing intelligence from this AI data infrastructure into a single decisioning flow, so every action is truly unified and reflects the full business context.

This means our solution doesn’t just surface issues, it surfaces actions driven by multi-faceted intelligence streams – and it’s this unified insight that makes the platform so effective in optimising planning, allocation and stock to drive profitability.

How are retailers using your systems to gain competitive advantage and what does best practice look like? Can you share a case study with us?

We’ve recently announced a new partnership with leading frozen food retailer, Iceland, to help it transform the way it manages inventory and replenishment to keep its shelves consistently stocked and reduce lost revenue opportunities.

The platform goes beyond traditional forecasting by factoring in seasonal demand, promotions, new product launches and one-off anomalies.  It automates replenishment decisions, providing operational teams with optimised stock recommendations that reduce waste, minimise stockouts and maximise sales opportunities.

Similarly, we also do a lot of work within the fashion space, having worked with leading brands like yoga wear retailer, ALO.

ALO, for example, is using invent.ai to help it better forecast and allocate stock to improve sales and avoid markdowns – ALO runs an accelerated product lifecycle, dropping new collections every two weeks, which was adding complexities to its inventory accuracy and replenishment across its sales channels. It has already seen remarkable improvements, including a +2.9% year-on-year uplift in availability, alongside a three-week reduction in weeks’ cover.  Despite holding materially less stock, ALO has continued to improve customer satisfaction, recording -8.2% fewer abandoned sales and increasing profit through a +6.8% improvement in revenue-weighted availability.

Are there other companies you partner with?

We work closely with a broader ecosystem of technology and retail partners to strengthen the invent.ai platform.  Our cloud partnerships with Microsoft Azure and AWS provide the secure, scalable infrastructure that underpins our AI-decisioning capabilities, enabling global deployment, resilience and enterprise-grade performance for retailers.

Alongside this, we collaborate with data providers, AI and analytics specialists and implementation partners who help ensure invent.ai integrates seamlessly into complex retail environments. These partnerships enhance signal richness, improve interoperability and accelerate time to value.

Together, this ecosystem allows us to deliver more connected, real-time decision-making across planning, allocation, replenishment and pricing, helping retailers operate with greater speed and confidence.

What challenges and opportunities do you see in UK retail for 2026? How will you address these challenges and turn them into successes?

Retailers already operate in a highly complex market, and that complexity – from more volatile demand patterns, to quickening consumer expectations around product lifecycles, rising costs bases and supply chain disruption – will only become more pronounced as we look ahead into 2026 and beyond.

Retailers will need to make more decisions than ever, faster, to make the incremental gains needed to drive performance, which is where traditional tools, siloed systems and static forecasts hold retail businesses back.

This rising market volatility – both at a macro and demand level – is putting more and more emphasis on not just tracking, but responding and pre-empting market dynamics and shifts.  And this means retailers need to be able to respond in real time as conditions change, while maintaining confidence in how decisions are generated and executed, which is where we come in; delivering the automation they need to move faster, reduce friction and stay ahead of change.

What is on the horizon for you as a company?

As well as continuing to support our roster of leading retail customers and rolling out a series of pilots with brands across grocery, fashion, value retail and GM, we’ll continue to invest in enhancing our central agent, Remi.

As retail becomes more dynamic and fast-moving, execution is becoming the primary driver of performance, and that’s where our solution is uniquely positioned to help, powered by systems that turn decisions into coordinated, intelligent actions in real-time.

The enhancements to Remi will focus on reducing the time between decision identification and execution across retail workflows.  Rather than just adding another analytics layer, we’ll explore ways we can continually reduce operational friction between teams, ensuring decisions move consistently from identification to execution through a structured and auditable process.
