Waitrose launches limited edition Heston Blumenthal Easter Egg

Waitrose has launched a premium limited edition Easter egg created by celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal.

Priced at £20, the product is the first Easter Egg to be introduced as part of the Heston from Waitrose range.

Waitrose said demand for premium Easter eggs has risen over the last two years with sales increasing by almost by 13% year-on-year.

Just 8,000 of the limited edition eggs, which are handcrafted, will be launched in store from today.

Chris Moore, buyer at Waitrose said: “Premium Easter Eggs are rising in popularity, so it was definitely the time to introduce a Heston from Waitrose egg. We’ve been working with Heston for over a year to create an egg that will really stand out from the crowd. There’s nothing else quite like it!”

Describing the Easter egg, Blumenthal said: “Crack it open and there’s a surprise inside – mini eggs with a fruity mandarin ganache centre, sitting in their own edible nest.”

Waitrose first launched The Heston from Waitrose range in 2010 with the Heston’s Hidden Orange Christmas Pudding being a sell-out success for the supermarket in the last four years.
