London Designer Outlet grows Christmas sales and footfall
In particular, trading was boosted by a 32.8% increase in footfall on the second day of the Boxing Day sales on Tuesday 27 December.
Total revenue that day was up 43.1% year-on-year while total trading across the eight-day period rose by 17.5%.
Sue Shepherd, centre manager for LDO, said: “Across the retail sector, Christmas is a really important time and delivers much of the income and profitability. We were delighted to see so many retailers achieve their best ever week since the opening of LDO, including M&S, Levi’s, The North Face, Guess and Next.”
The Quintain owned retail and leisure destination expects footfall for the year to be seven million, of which 51% of visitors will be ABC1 and 84% under 50 years old.
Managed by Realm, LDO spans 265,000 square feet and includes 70 outlet stores, restaurants and bars, a nine-screen Cineworld and a children's play park. Other retailers at the centre include the likes of Nike, Kurt Geiger, Superdry, Ernest Jones, Gap and H&M.
