JYSK opens first store in Ireland

Furniture retailer JYSK has chosen the city of Naas for the opening of its first store in Ireland in its 40th anniversary year.

With the store situated around 40 kilometres from Dublin, JYSK said the launch was popular with locals, some of whom queued outside the shop from 2am on the opening morning.

The launch was attended by Lars Larsen, JYSK founder and owner, Niels Christen Pultz, the Danish Ambassador in Ireland, and Billy Hillis, the Mayor of Naas.

JYSK is aiming to have 15 stores operating in Ireland within the next couple of years. The company currently has over 2,700 stores in 52 countries.
