Dixons Carphone bolsters services offering with launch of Team Knowhow

Dixons Carphone, the electrical and telecoms retailer, has bolstered its services offering with the launch of Team Knowhow, a national network of tech experts which will help customers with installation, support, upgrades and repairs.

The retailer said the new offering will build on the previous success of its Geek Squad and Knowhow teams. In the last year, the teams have carried out eight million mobile phone repairs and six million computer repairs. The new service will include same day mobile repairs in London stores.

Through the service, over 7,000 team members will be able to deliver, install and repair everything from white goods through to mobiles and laptops.

The new offering also includes a brand-new fleet of over 700 branded vehicles, ranging from 7.5 tonne trucks to smaller transit vans. The retailer said any customer will only be a 20-minute drive away from a Team Knowhow expert or service.

Meanwhile tech support will be offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week so that customers have constant access.

In addition, Team Knowhow will be able to help customers irrespective of where their technology was originally purchased.

Feilim Mackle, chief executive of services at Dixons Carphone, said: “Whatever the challenge, Team Knowhow is aiming to be the UK’s number one technology support service, always on hand to connect it, fix it, protect it, or improve it! We are a local, one-stop shop for expert service. Our colleagues make us who we are, and we are committed to being super-helpful, offering an impressively broad range of services that will consistently provide an exceptional customer experience.”

The new staff uniform has been created in collaboration with Wayne Hemingway and Hemingway Design. Over 150 staff members were involved in the development of the new look, and have several combinations to choose from with each item using technical fabrics.
