ARKET to open first Swedish store in Stockholm

With the brand launching in August 2017, the shop will be its first in Sweden and follows openings in five major European cities, including London. It also has an online store in 18 markets.

Owned by Swedish fashion retailer H&M, ARKET stores are designed to be a “modern-day market” offering items for men, women, children and the home.

The Stockholm shop will be housed in a corner two-story building on the city’s main pedestrian street. In addition to a retail area, the store will feature a ground floor café offering both vegetarian and entirely plant-based meals and pastries.

ARKET managing director Lars Axelsson said: “We hope our modern-day market and especially the café will add a lot to the life of the area. We were lucky to be able to bring forward this location, which was originally supposed to be our second Stockholm store, after the unfortunate fire at Biblioteksgatan in November. We’re now all very excited to finally share the brand and our collections with the people of our hometown."
