IKEA to open first of its new retail park locations
IKEA is to open the first of its new retail park locations later this month.
Due to launch on 24 July, the new small format store at Harlow Retail Park will be the first of three of its kind to open this year, with two more planned for Norwich and Chester in the coming months.
Subscribe to TRBThe retailer said the new stores are significantly faster and more cost effective to open than traditional IKEA shops. As a result, the Harlow site will welcome customers in just over 100 days after the acquisition of the lease. They also enable IKEA to have a presence in new locations like suburbs, towns and smaller cities.
In Harlow, customers will be able to explore inspiring room sets, take advantage of planning services for kitchens and bedroom storage, and take home a wide selection of home furnishings and small furniture items on the same day.
The store will also feature a showroom and market hall showcasing IKEA’s most popular product families, home accessories, and limited-edition seasonal ranges. In addition, shoppers will be able to access the full IKEA range online, with options for free next-day collection or home delivery.
There will also be the opportunity to purchase pre-loved IKEA items or return used IKEA products in exchange for store credit.
