DFS appoints Liz McMeikan as chair designate to succeed Steve Johnson
DFS has appointed Liz McMeikan as non-executive director and chair designate.
McMeikan will join the furniture retailer’s board with immediate effect and will succeed Steve Johnson as chair in 2027.
Subscribe to TRBWith extensive experience in consumer facing businesses, she has been serving as chair of soft drinks company Nichols since 2023. She is also senior independent director of Custodian, a UK real estate investment trust.
McMeikan has previously held a variety of non-executive directorships in customer service-focused, manufacturing and property related public companies in both the UK and Ireland, including Unite Group, Dalata Hotel Group and McBride.
Prior to that, she held executive roles in marketing and sales at Colgate-Palmolive and Tesco.

Last week, DFS announced that it had grown its revenue to £1.06 billion in the 12 months to 28 June from £1.03 billion in the prior year. Underlying pre-tax profit was also up, rising by 48.7% to £44.9 million in the period.
