Outlet Shopping at The O2 sees record August sales as Ariana Grande residency boosts footfall
Outlet Shopping at The O2 has reported its strongest ever sales performance in August, with retail sales up 11% year-on-year.
Footfall rose by 5%, while food and beverage spend increased by 16% compared to August 2025.
Subscribe to TRBThe scheme said the record breaking performance was driven by a strong programme of live events at The O2, including Ariana Grande’s sell-out residency for the Eternal Sunshine Tour, as well as the addition of new brands such as Søstrene Grene and Suit Direct. It said it also benefited from The O2’s ability to facilitate ‘social spending’ due to the mix of experiences available.
Retailers in the fashion and accessories categories, which include the likes of Kate Spade, Reiss, Lovisa, and Carvela, were particularly strong performers, with year-on-year sales uplifts of 26% and 31% respectively.
Alistair Wood, executive VP of real estate & development at AEG International, said: “Summertime is always a strong period for The O2, with the school holidays coinciding with an impressive programme of high-profile events, but this August our performance has gone above and beyond.
“Combined sales at Outlet Shopping at The O2 and the Entertainment District grew by 15%, which is a significant step-up, both on last year and, perhaps more significantly, the UK as a whole.”
Outlet Shopping at The O2 and The O2’s Entertainment District have attracted 38,972 square feet of tenant investment so far in 2026. This will be boosted later this year by the opening of Guinness World Records’ debut leisure concept, which is a first for the capital.
