Topps Tiles appoints new non-executive director

Topps Tiles has appointed Denise Jagger as a non-executive director.

Due to join the retailer’s board on 1 February, she will succeed Keith Down as senior independent director at the AO AGM in January 2025, at which point Down will retire from the board.

Having served in non-executive roles in both public and private businesses for over 25 years, Jagger is currently a non-executive director at Reach and CLS Holdings, and previously held non-executive director roles at Redrow, SCS and Scarborough Building Society.

A qualified solicitor, she was company secretary and general counsel at Asda Walmart for 11 years until 2004 and is currently a trustee of the National Trust.

Paul Forman, chair of Topps Group, said: “Denise is a seasoned public company NED and senior independent director, and her specific experience of consumer-facing businesses and within the construction and building materials sector is highly relevant and makes her a great fit for the Topps Group team. We welcome her to the board and look forward to her contribution to the group’s future development.”
