OnBuy hires Cherie Cook as marketing director

Online marketplace OnBuy has hired Cherie Cook to head up its marketing team.

As marketing director, she will drive development of the OnBuy brand, improve the customer experience, and create an overarching proposition for the company as it aims to become a household name.

Prior to OnBuy, Cook was director of marketing at online appliance retailer AO and also previously worked with Thomas Cook and Bupa.

Cas Paton, founder and chief executive of OnBuy, said: “As a true marketing visionary and a leader of AO’s fantastic marketing to date, Cherie has been there and got the t-shirt! She was the best candidate for OnBuy to fuel our next wave of growth. She’s a forward-thinker with a ‘get it done’ approach – qualities needed to move at the scale we expect.”

Cook will lead a number of large-scale marketing campaigns for OnBuy in 2023 to help the company reach millions more customers.

She said: “There’s so much more we all want to do to raise the bar for customers and sellers and establish a new ordinary; we’re only just getting started. The marketing team – which is full of smart, curious, and driven people – are set to make OnBuy a destination customers come back to time and time again.”
