N Brown chairman to step down
N Brown Group, the owner of Simply Be, Jacamo and JD Williams, has announced that Matt Davies is to step down as chairman at the end of March to spend more time on other business activities.
In a statement, the group said: “The board would like to thank Matt for his contribution over the past three years and for guiding the business through a successful refinancing and transfer to AIM.”
He will be succeeded as chairman by Ron McMillan will relinquish his roles as senior independent director and audit committee chair of N Brown.
McMillan is currently audit committee chair and senior independent director of B&M European Value Retail and SCS Group. He also serves as audit committee chair of Homeserve.
Meanwhile, Gill Barr will succeed McMillan as the senior independent director and Vicky Mitchell will assume the audit committee chair role on an interaim basis.
The group is currently working to recruit an additional independent non-executive director who will become the permanent audit committee chair.
