Marks Electrical announces new chair appointment
Marks Electrical Group has announced that Darren Bowkett will become its new chair on 2 January.
The move follows current chair Marnie Millard informing its board of her decision to step down on 31 December.
Millard joined Marks Electrical as chair in 2021 as part of the online electrical retailer’s IPO. Since then, she has supported its transition from a family-owned business to a publicly traded company.
Bowkett is currently strategic projects director at Ibstock Brick. Over the past 12 years, he has held multiple senior leadership roles across the Ibstock Group, including having responsibility for overseeing and running several of its key business units.
Mark Smithson, chief executive of Marks Electrical, said: “Marnie joined the board in 2021 as part of the IPO and has been an integral part of the team, helping the business to deliver on its strategic plans as we’ve expanded over recent years.
“Marnie has been a great help guiding the company, the other directors and me over the last four years. We are all very grateful for her efforts throughout her tenure and wish her well for the future.
“We are excited to welcome Darren with his operational expertise and look forward to welcoming him to the team in the new year.”
