John Lewis launches supplier platform in push to be ‘home of premium brands’

John Lewis has announced that footwear specialist Russell & Bromley has become one of the first partners on its new supplier brands platform.

The retailer said the platform is designed to bring customers a wider range of hand-picked brands more quickly as it accelerates the addition and sale of new labels through a direct-shipping model.

Rachel Morgans, director of fashion at John Lewis, said: “Our ambition is to be the definitive home for premium brands in the UK.

“This new platform is a huge step on that journey, giving us the agility to bring newness to our customers at speed.

“The launch of Russell & Bromley is the perfect example of this strategy in action and demonstrates the calibre of brands we are attracting.”

John Lewis has recently strengthened its omnichannel capability with the rollout of its ‘deliver from store’ service, which allows online orders to be fulfilled directly from store stock. The retailer is also piloting rapid delivery in partnership with Uber Eats.

More than 20 John Lewis stores are now part of the ‘deliver from store’ programme, increasing product availability and driving additional sales.
