GroceryAid makes Paul Monk a Life Patron

GroceryAid, the charity for those working in the grocery sector, has announced that Paul Monk, chairman and founder of InVentaBrand Consulting, has agreed to become a Life Patron of the charity.

Monk will join a group of current patrons that includes Sir David Reid, Lord Price and Mike Coupe.

Andy Higginson, president of GroceryAid, said:“Paul, throughout the last 18 years, has given a tremendous amount of personal support to GroceryAid. Without his passion and commitment, GroceryAid would not be in the position it is in today and we are delighted Paul has agreed to become a Life Patron.”

Commenting on his appointment, Monk said: “Having supported GroceryAid for many years I’m very aware of the vital work done to help colleagues, who fall on hard times. I’m honoured and humbled to take up the role and look forward to contributing further to this great cause.”

Monk’s experience at board level as chairman and non-executive director covers a variety of grocery companies. His senior management career spans Mars, M&S, Golden Wonder, Finsbury Foods, Quorn, and Burtons Biscuits.

Over the last two decades, Monk has organised numerous events to raise funds for GroceryAid including the Leadership Weekend, President’s Waterside Dinner and Leadership Symposium. He has also been an active member on the President’s Fundraising Committee since 2000. In 2010 Monk was inducted into the GroceryAid Hall of Fame to mark 10 years of supporting GroceryAid.
