Frasers Group appoints new non-executive director

Sports Direct owner Frasers Group is to appoint Jacky Wright as a non-executive director later this month, pending final board approval.

Wright most recently served as chief technology and platform officer at McKinsey & Company, where she oversaw the firm’s technology strategy, AI transformation, and modernisation initiatives. Before that, she spent over a decade at Microsoft, culminating in her role as chief digital officer. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership positions at BP, General Electric and HMRC.

Michael Murray, chief executive officer of Frasers Group, said: “Today’s announcement of the proposed appointment reinforces the group’s commitment to this pivotal next phase of the Elevation Strategy. I look forward to welcoming Jacky to the board, bringing with her deep expertise in digital transformation that will be instrumental as we further build and roll out our AI strategy.”

Sir Jon Thompson, chair of the board of Frasers Group, added: “I’m delighted to announce our proposed new appointment to the board with Jacky.  We welcome her wealth of experience in digital and AI transformation to further drive the group’s long-term ambitions.”

In addition to Sports Direct, Frasers Group’s portfolio of brands includes the likes of House of Fraser, Flannels, Game and Jack Wills.
