Former Boots chief marketing officer Pete Markey has been appointed as executive director of marketing, fundraising and engagement at Cancer Research UK.
Markey worked with Boots for four and a half years until June and before that served in senior roles at TSB Bank, Aviva, Post Office and RSA.
In a post on LinkedIn, Cancer Research UK said the appointment has come at a significant time for the organisation when its marketing, fundraising and engagement teams continue to drive growth, innovation and engagement.

Commenting on his new role, Markey said on LinkedIn: “I’m excited to be joining Cancer Research UK (CRUK) as executive director of marketing, fundraising & engagement.
