Tim Hortons to open first UK ‘drive thru’ outlet

Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons is to launch its first UK ‘drive thru’ outlet on Manchester’s Bury New Road.

The restaurant will be the first Tim Hortons in England and the first of several openings in the Manchester area in the next month. The Bury New Road restaurant will also feature a regional training academy.

The debut UK Tim Hortons restaurant opened on Argyle Street in Glasgow at the start of June.

Across the UK, Tim Hortons will offer the brand’s signature coffee, espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate, French Vanilla and frozen Iced Capp drinks, as well as baked goods and breakfast and lunch items.

Kevin Hydes, chief finance and commercial officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, said: “The Tim Hortons drive thru is a major part of Canadian culture, and we think the UK is going to love our great tasting coffee and quality food, served quickly and with a smile. The buzz around our recent Glasgow and Cardiff openings was phenomenal, and we couldn’t be more excited to open our first drive thru, and our first restaurant in England.”
