SPAR UK announces leadership change as Michael Fletcher steps down

SPAR UK has announced a change to its leadership following Michael Fletcher’s decision to step down from his role as managing director.

Having joined the business in November 2024 and leading the SPAR central office team through a significant period of change, he will step away from his day-to-day responsibilities this month and leave the business at the end of November.

Fletcher has been succeeded as managing director by Jerome Saint-Marc, who previously served as managing director of B2B and growth at Co-op. Prior to that, he was chief executive of Wilko and also worked in senior positions at Morrisons.

There has also been a leadership change at the SPAR Food Distributors (SFD) board, where Martin Agnew has replaced Nick Bunker as chair. Agnew has served on the SFD board for more than 25 years.
