Pret beats headwinds with 8% UK sales jump

The increase follows an uplift of 2.7% on a constant currency basis to £1.2 billion in 2025.

Pret attributed the performance to its focus on freshly prepared food and barista made drinks, as well as investment in team training and initiatives to deliver faster service and an improved customer experience.

Since the start of 2026, Pret has launched a series of menu innovations, including new protein plates added to its Super Plates offering, a new line of matcha drinks, a larger coffee size, and half baguettes and wraps to offer customers more affordable options.

The company also increased investment in shop teams, equipment and more training for baristas.

Pano Christou, chief executive of Pret A Manger, said: “We are encouraged by our start to 2026, particularly as more customers are choosing Pret despite the financial pressure many households continue to face.

“Over the past few years, we have invested significantly in our menu and in better value for money for our customers, while also continuing to support our amazing team members and improve the Pret customer experience.

“These results give us confidence that when we stay focused on the customer, we can continue to win the hearts and minds of Pret fans in the UK and around the world.”
