River Island CEO to step down

River Island CEO Will Kernan has decided to step down from his role to pursue a number of “personal and commercial projects”.
Kernan will remain with River Island until next year, working closely with chair Clive Lewis on a handover process.
Kernan joined the business as CEO in 2019. Prior to this he led The White Company for five years until 2017, when he joined online sportswear specialist Wiggle as chief executive.Previously Will spent thirteen years at New Look where he held roles from Group FD to Group Trading Director, to COO to Group Managing Director
Turnover at River Island increased 23.2% year on year to £740.0m in the 52 weeks to 25 December 2021.
