Ralph Lauren launches fashion rental subscription offering

Ralph Lauren has launched a new subscription based fashion rental offering called ‘The Lauren Look’.

The membership platform allows customers to hire an ever-evolving selection of Lauren dresses, trousers, tops, and more. They also have access to suggestions from expert stylists on how to wear the items. Subscriptions cost from $125 per month.

Once a customer is finished with the items, they can either return them and replace them with new pieces  or purchase them at exclusive member prices.

Patrice Louvet, president and chief executive of Ralph Lauren, said: “Consumers today are taking a different approach to experiencing brands and building their wardrobes. The closet of the future will include a mix of new seasonal fashion, unique customised pieces and wardrobe staples, alongside pre-owned and rented clothing. With our timeless aesthetic, we are incredibly well positioned to play across each of these categories.”

The company said the initiative will also enable it to generate direct feedback and a deeper understanding of the customer.

Once the clothes have reached the rental cap, they will be donated to charity.
