Primark continues US expansion with new Florida distribution centre
Primark is continuing its US expansion with the opening of a new distribution centre in Jacksonville in Florida.
The 550,000 square foot facility will help drive the fashion brand’s expansion in the US with a focus on southern states.
Subscribe to TRBPrimark has also signed leases for new stores in the states of Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee and Texas. The shops will have a combined 128,000 square feet of retail selling space and will be serviced by the Jacksonville distribution centre and the retailer’s existing facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US, said: “We’ve seen growing demand for Primark stores across the US, particularly in our southern locations where we’ve even expanded our store footprint in our Sawgrass Mills store to meet customer demand.
“The opening of this distribution centre in Jacksonville comes at the perfect time for the brand and our customers as we set our sights on continued growth across the US, including in Florida, Texas, as well as our first store in Tennessee, which we announced today. We’re thrilled to continue to bring ‘Primania’ to new customers with our expansion.”
Primark sees a big opportunity for expansion in the southern US and wants to open more stores in Florida, including Orlando.
The retailer is currently operating in 24 stores in the US across nine states and is aiming to reach a total of 60 stores by 2026.
