Next eyes acquisition of Radley

Next is mulling a takeover of the Radley in what could be its latest brand acquisition.

According to Sky News, the retailer is in discussions with advisers to the British handbag brand’s owners over a deal that could involve the acquisition of its brand and intellectual property assets.

Sky also reported that retail industry sources had suggested that any purchase might be implemented through a pre-pack administration, although the outcome of Radley’s sales process is said to be some way from being determined.

Earlier this year, Next acquired the Russell & Bromley footwear brand through an insolvency process.

In recent years, the retailer has purchased brands such as Seraphine, Cath Kidston and Joules. It also owns FatFace and the Made.com online furniture retailer.
